Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) and Overseas Qualified Teachers (OQTs) are Welcome!

Man 7There is a huge demand for quality teachers across London, and Teach247 is delighted to employ both NQTs and OQTs with the appropriate qualifications, skills and understanding of the UK’s National Curriculum.

OQTs must recognised teaching qualifications with which UK NARIC can make valid comparisons. OQTs also require criminal clearance from their home countries. They must be eligible to work in the UK and be able to provide confirmation of their right to reside in the UK. They must have health-check clearance. And, of course, they must be able to speak, understand, read and write in English to an acceptable standard.

For both NQTs and OQTs we provide:

  • Wherever possible, longer-term deployments to a single school
  • Support in the form of an experienced mentor within those schools
  • Our own support within the agency from a qualified and experienced teacher
  • Professional resources such as lesson plans, course materials and National Curriculum documents
  • Advice on inspection
  • Assistance with housing
  • Social events to help you make friends here

For OQTs we also provide:

  • An induction session for fresh arrivals
  • A ‘Welcome to Willing Workers’ pack (disk-based informational literature)
  • Help in getting a National Insurance number (NINo)
  • Help with obtaining work permits
  • Assistance with opening a bank account (with Barclays)
  • Advice on locating doctors, dentists and utilities
  • Free airport collection
